The Climate and Global Dynamics Division research goals are:

• to develop a comprehensive understanding of the climate system components and the interactions among them;
• to represent this understanding in models of the components and the coupled climate system;
• to use these models to provide a basis for prediction of climate; and
• to use these models to investigate important scientific and societal questions.
