Update (22 March 1999): All 4 times daily NCEP Reanalysis pressure
level data is also available in netCDF format covering the period 1
January 1979 through 30 April 1998. Filenames for these holdings
contain a four-digit year, one day per file, and have the file tag
".nc". For example, T4219810305.nc contains data for 00Z, 06Z, 12Z,
and 18Z on 5 March 1981 in netCDF format, and can be retrieved from the
MSS directory /CA/NMC/PRESS/.
Update (12 August 2002): Due to a problem with the TOVS data in the NCEP/NCAR Reanalyses,
Mar 1997 through Feb 2001 have been re-run and released to NCAR.
