Filename: Prior to 1997: T63yymmdd where yy=year, mm=month, dd=day=01,04,07,10,13,16,19,22,25,28, or 31
3 days (12 time steps) per volume (though not always for end of month).
e.g. T63850101 contains data for 85,01,01,00Z through 85,01,03,18Z.
Filenames for holdings beginning January 1997 contain a four-digit
year, one day per file, and have the file tag ".nc".
e.g. T6319970101.nc contains data for 00Z, 06Z, 12Z, and 18Z on
January 1, 1997 in NetCDF format.
Current holdings: January 1979 - December 2008
Update (16 April 1999): Four times daily NCEP Reanalysis sigma
level data is now available in netCDF format covering the period 1
January 1979 through 30 April 1998. Filenames for these holdings
contain a four-digit year, one day per file, and have the file tag
".nc". For example, T6319810305.nc contains data for 00Z, 06Z, 12Z,
and 18Z on 5 March 1981 in netCDF format, and can be retrieved from the
MSS directory /CA/NMC/SIGMA/.
Update(22 August 2002): Four times daily NCEP Reanalysis sigma
level data from March 1997 through December 2001 has been rerun and is
now available in netCDF format. These files can be retrieved from the
MSS directory /CA/NMC/SIGMA/UPDATE/.
Update(December 2004): 2002 Data has been processed and is
available in MSS directory /CA/NMC/SIGMA/UPDATE/
Update(January 2005): 2003 Data has been processed and is
available in MSS directory /CA/NMC/SIGMA/UPDATE/
Update(September 2005): 2004 Data has been processed and is
available in MSS directory /CA/NMC/SIGMA/UPDATE/
Update(February 2006): 2005 Data has been processed and is
available in MSS directory /CA/NMC/SIGMA/UPDATE/
Update(February 2007): 2006 Data has been processed and is
