NCEP Reanalysis Mass, Moisture, and Energy Budget Products

(includes products from NCAR Technical Note 430: Evaluation of the Atmospheric Moisture and Hydrological Cycle in the NCEP Reanalyses: Monthly Means and Summary Statistics.)

SPECIAL NOTE: A new archive has been made available at tapered T42
   resolution that includes a more complete mass correction to the total, 
   dry static, and latent energy divergences. It was found that the 
   application of the old mass correction to these quantities resulted in 
   their no longer behaving as divergences; that is, when integrated over 
   a closed domain, they did not vanish. The products on this page remain 
   unchanged; the three divergence quantities are the old mass 
   corrected quantities. The new products are located at:
