May 2004: ECMWF 40-year Reanalysis from NCAR DSS

New:The ECMWF 40-year Reanalysis (ERA-40) data are available to scientific/academic users on the NCAR MSS or the SCD/DSS dataserver.
Data available as of May 2004 includes (all from ECMWF):

Extensive background concerning the details of the derivation of these products can also be found on this new web page.

November 2002: DSS SOC air-sea flux climatologies

Update: The SOC air-sea flux climatologies are available on the NCAR MSS or the SCD/DSS dataserver. Some work has been done recently to constrain the version 1.1 (1998) heat fluxes according to estimates of ocean heat transport.

10 October, 2002: NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis Pressure Level Monthly Means

Update: Due to a problem with the TOVS data in the NCEP/NCAR Reanalyses, January 1997 through December 2001 have been re-run and released to NCAR. The data can be retrieved from the MSS directory /CA/NMC/PRESS/UPDATE/

New Product: Global Monthly Precipitation Over Land: 1948 - 2001, from National Centers for Climate Prediction/Climate Prediction Center.

17 September, 2002: ECMWF ERA-15 Data

Update: ECMWF ERA-15 archive, 1979-1993. From European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) has been updated.

17 September, 2002: Dai and Trenberth Global River Flow and Continental Discharge Data

New Product: Long-term mean data of river runoff and continental discharge into the individual and global ocean.

22 August, 2002: NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis Sigma Level Data 4 times Daily

Update: Four times daily NCEP Reanalysis sigma level data from March 1997 through December 2001 has been re-run and released to NCAR. The data can be retrieved from the MSS directory /CA/NMC/SIGMA/UPDATE/.

19 August, 2002: NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis Pressure Level Data 4 times Daily

Update: Due to a problem with the TOVS data in the NCEP/NCAR Reanalyses, Mar 1997 through Feb 2001 have been re-run and released to NCAR. Data from March 2001 through December 2001 has been created. The data can be retrieved from the MSS directory /CA/NMC/PRESS/UPDATE/

15 May, 2000: NCEP and ECMWF Oceanic and Atmospheric Transports

New Product: A number of northward transports computed from annual climatologies of surface fluxes and vertically integrated total energy divergences over the ERBE period (Feb 1985 - Apr 1989).

11 May, 2000: Mass, Moisture and Energy Budget Products for ECMWF 15-year Reanalysis (ERA15) at Tapered T42

New Product: A number of vertically integrated quantities are available covering the duration of the 15-year reanalysis (1979-1993).

11 May, 2000: Mass, Moisture and Energy Budget Products for NCEP Reanalysis at Tapered T42

New Product: A number of vertically integrated quantities are available covering the duration of the reanalysis period 1979-1995.
