CAM3 climatologies
We provide climatology of CAM3 in various configurations (present-day climate conditions,
climate scenarios for increased carbon dioxide, and specified sea surface temperature simulations)
and resolutions. These climatologies can be used to gauge cloud climate feedbacks for a wide range
of climate regimes.
Details
- Simulations have been conducted in different configurations (AMIP runs, SOM runs, SOM 2xCO2 runs)
for the Eulerian dynamical core at T42 and T85 resolutions.
- The simulations have names indicating that they were
performed using different development versions of the model. All of the
configurations used produce the same climate.
- We provide model versus observations plots for the simulations.
- The monthly climatology files are in NetCDF format and can be downloaded from this website
(Access restricted to CPT participants).
AMIP runs
CAM3 is forced with observed monthly mean SST and sea ice which change with time/years.
SOM - Control
CAM3 is coupled with a slab ocean model.
SOM - 2xCO2
CAM3 is coupled with a slab ocean model and an instantaneous doubling of CO2 is applied
at the beginning of the integration.
Observational data sets
You can download the observational datasets used to compare
with model data via our anonymous ftp site. The file is about 116 MB.
