Goals
(1) Provide transparent multi-platform code of past climate reconstruction techniques to the
community.
(2) Use state-of-the-art coupled Atmosphere-Ocean General Circulation Model ouput
to test reconstruction techniques used in context with proxy data.
A: Introduction
Climate research can be performed with observational and/or modeled data. Both have very
specific strength and weaknesses. It is the goal of this activity to use the strength of
each to offer a validation attempt for the other. Although the comparison is incomplete,
it allows neverthless for a first test of the applied techniques.
