CAM3 and AM2 diagnostics
Motivation
Change in Pacific low-levels clouds for 2xCO2 scenario: CAM3 and AM2 show different response.
Our goal: What determines cloud properties in various regions of the Pacific for the present day climate ?
Datasets and Regions
We look at a 12-month climatology of AMIP runs
(i.e. the models are forced with observed monthly mean SST and sea ice which change with time/years.)

We look at regions of subsidence with significant amount of low-level clouds.
We pick 3 regions based on observations:
North SubTropics, South SubTropics, and East equatorial.
The idea is to :
Characterize cloud properties in these regions.
Which large-scale quantities determine cloud properties ?
