This animation depicts surface warming as simulated by CCSM3. It shows the temperature anomaly relative to the end of the 19th century, both over the entire globe and as a global average. Several major volcanic eruptions are noted. [animation]
The data were derived from 5 separate experiments of the period 1870 to 2000, and which were averaged. The future period depicted uses the A1B (mid-range) climate change scenario.
