A few months ago I sent around a notice about a NATO advanced study
institute (ASI) on atmospheric modelling. The ASI is a 2-week course
designed to acquaint new-ish users of GCMs and their outputs with the
fundamentals of atmospheric (climate) modelling. It will be held at Il
Ciocco, a resort hotel in Tuscany, Italy, May 25-June 5, 1998, and will
include a modelling project using the CCM3.
Many recipients of this mailing list have applied to the ASI, and we hope
that more will do so. We especially encourage anyone new to atmospheric
modelling. Anyone interested in attending should obtain an application
form by visiting the web site, http://www.nwra.com/ASI, or by anonymous
ftp from ftp.nwra.com, cd pub/mote, get appl.txt. The deadline is Monday,
January 19. (Not the 12th as previously announced.)
I hope to see you there.
Philip Mote
