I am a postdoctoral research fellow working at
NCAR.
My research interests include:
Cloud and aerosol processes and their influence on the coupled
climate system
Mechanisms for recent Arctic sea ice loss
Evaluation of climate models using data assimilation
Climate change impacts and adaptation strategies
Recent highlights include:
Satellite observations reveal no cloud response to recent summer
sea ice loss,
but do show cloud increases over newly open water in early fall.
More details and
discussion in our recently accepted JGR paper here.
Anomalous cloud and weather patterns contributed to the record
Arctic sea ice loss in 2007.
See our GRL paper, and the associated NCAR and AGU
press releases.
For a local perspective on Arctic change and research, listen to Talk of Alaska.
See the NSIDC blog, daily
extent maps, daily concentration maps or daily visible images, for current Arctic sea ice
conditions.
A simple timescale ratio can predict aerosol sensitivity in ice
clouds.

our GRL paper.

wrote at the Climate Impacts Group website here.
