I.4.5.2. ->STSR - Time Series Save Tapes Time Series Save Tapes contain a series of one or more time samples for some set of processed fields. The time series may span multiple tapes, but a series can contain only one field pass (*DEFS). These tapes may be both input (*ITSR) and output (*OTSR) by the Processor, but they are not suitable for input to other processing programs. Time series Save tapes are especially useful when used in conjunction with time filtering (*TFIL). Since Time Series Save Tapes contain data in the same format that is used internally in the Processor's database, all descriptive information remains associated with the data (including a processing history). The fields written to the Save Tape may also be vertically (*VERA), meridionally (*MERA), and/or zonally (*ZONA) averaged.
