I am involved in several Education & Outreach
activities for a K-12 audience, School Teachers, and
Graduate Students/Postdocs:
- I teach
Weather and Climate for Teachers, a graduate
level on-line course offerred through Montana
State University in association with the National
Teachers Enhancment Network (NTEN)
- Together with Christine Johnson (ASP/NCAR), I have
developed "Weather and Climate - The Two Go Together:
Girl Scouts at the National Center for Atmospheric
Research" event. During this bi-yearly event Girl
Scouts spend one day at NCAR in the company of female
scientists learning about weather, climate, and careers
in atmospheric sciences.
- I was a Content Editor and
I am a Role Model for NASA's Astro-Venture
Atmospheric Science Mission (Educational Module).
- Together with Jan Kazil & Christiane Jablonowski,
I have initiated on-line access to seminars given
for the Advanced Studies Program at NCAR. These
seminars are at an introductory graduate student/post-doc
level on a variety of topics related to atmospheric and
solar weather and climate and provide a great learning
resource for young scientists worldwide.
