CGD Partnerships

From helping the next generation of scientists to research collaborations with universities and industry

Multi-institutional Research Collaboration

CGD, as part of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), works with universities and research centers across the world to understand complex and interelated atmospheric systems with an emphasis on developing understanding and research applications that benefit humanity.

Mentoring Next-generation Scientists

Mentoring and advising the next generation of earth-systems scientists ensures high-quality continuity in the level of research necessary to solve increasingly complex issues facing humans, as we try to live in balance with our home planet, Earth.

CGD Scientists participate in mentoring students of all ages, via institutional programs such as SOARS and SUNNY, at the graduate and PhD level by acting as Masters and PhD advisors, by hosting post-graduate scientific visitors who participate in research projects, by acting as mentors to early career scientists, and sometimes by showing up in a K - 12 classroom for a hands-on demonstration or lecture. Some of the more formal programs that ESSL scientists participate in are highlighted, below.

The CGD Scientific Visitor Program

CGD has a robust and long-standing Visitor's Program, bringing 75 scientific visitors each year for collaborative research. For more information on this program, or on how to participate, visit the CGD Scientific Visitor Program.
