Research Tools: Data and Data Set Resources

Data and Data Set Resources

  • ACACIA: A Consortium for the Application of Climate Impact Assessments (ACACIA) provides sulfur dioxide emissions data.
  • ARCAS: The ACACIA Regional Climate Data Access System (ARCAS) provides access to CSM and PCM datasets via LAS.
  • CCSM: Output data is available for Community Climate System Model (CCSM) control runs performed to validate each X.0 upgrade.
  • CAS: NCAR's Climate Analysis Section (CAS) in CGD maintains a number of observational data sets and analyses from a variety of sources in support of modeling efforts and climate research. These data have been put on common grids (usually T42 or T63 gaussian grids) to facilitate comparisons.
  • CDAS: Carbon Data-Model Assimilation.
  • CDP: NCAR's Community Data Portal (CDP) is a collection of earth science datasets from NCAR, UCAR, UOP, and participating organizations in the following research areas: oceanic, atmospheric, space weather and turbulence.
  • Daymet: Daily Surface Weather and Climatalogical Summaries and Daily Data.
  • ESG: The Earth System Grid (ESG) integrates supercomputers with large-scale data and analysis servers located at numerous national labs and research centers to create a powerful environment for next generation climate research.
  • PCMDI: Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) develops improved methods and tools for the diagnosis and intercomparison of general circulation models (GCMs) that simulate the global climate.
  • SCD Portal: NCAR's SCD Portal provides a customizable web interface to SCD high-end computing resources and information.
  • VEMAP: The Vegetation Ecosystem Modeling and Analysis Project provides a central collection of geographic, vegetation, soil, and site files.
