Remote Email

There are three general methods for checking e-mail from remote sites:

  1. Use the CGD/IS webmail system: from any web browser, go to https://webmail.cgd.ucar.edu/webmail/src/login.php.
  2. SSH to either goldhill.cgd.ucar.edu or moffatt.cgd.ucar.edu and use a text based client (i.e., either pine or mutt)
  3. Configure an IMAP client such as Thunderbird to use mailhub.cgd.ucar.edu. This method requires VPN software to be running.
