NCAR Wide Email Directory Setup

To setup your Thunderbird email to look for NCAR/UCAR wide email addresses do the following:

  1. In Thunderbird go to Tools>Account settings
  2. Click on "Composition and Addressing"
  3. Under "Addressing" click to "Use a different LDAP server" and click Edit Directories
  4. Choose to Add and fill in the following
  5. Name: NCAR Wide Directory
  6. Hostname: ldap.ucar.edu
  7. BaseDN: ou=people,dc=ucar,dc=edu
  8. Port number: 389
  9. Click ok 3 times (once per windows opened)
  10. Your email will now auto fill-in NCAR/UCAR email address as you type them.
