The RAS equipment was reconfigured this morning at 06:45 to accept more incoming toll-free connections. this change went smoothly and as planned. This UPS is under a recall notice by APC. I will be receiving another UPS to replace the one at Marshall. I will schedule that when it arrives. SCHEDULED OUTAGE NOTIFICATION: IP Telephony (IPT) upgrades and maintenance DATE/TIME OF OUTAGE: Saturday, 01-Mar-2003, beginning at 08:00am and continuing to completion (hopefully done by ~10:00am). SERVICES AFFECTED: New phone system calls will be affected while the main ML IPT router (voip1r.ucar.edu) is upgraded to a new IOS version. We expect short outage periods while we upgrade and re-configure the new router code. When the router work is complete, there will be various maintenance activities taking place on the IPT servers. We expect at least one reboot of the new phonemail server that will make that system temporarily unavailable. Otherwise, these server maintenance activities should be transparent to new phone system users. REASON: New IOS code for voip1r.ucar.edu provides enhanced echo control capabilities as well as other features we wish to take advantage of. For the IPT server maintenance activities, it includes items like OS patching and applying other application patches, upgrading backup software, etc. Please contact "phones@ucar.edu" should this scheduled work time present a major problem or if you have any questions.
