      . SCHEDULED OUTAGE NOTIFICATION:
	IP Telephony (IPT) maintenance


	DATE/TIME OF OUTAGE: Saturday, 7-Jun-2003, 07:00 until completion (about 11:00am)


	SERVICES AFFECTED:
	New phone system calls will be affected while we reconfigure IPT routers 
	and servers to enhance our IPT security. Expect continued short outage 
	periods while we apply changes to phones and services, which may be 
	extremely disruptive to users.

	The Jeffco and Marshall facilities will experience a brief network 
	outage as well as the IPT outage during these changes. 

	REASON:
	Implementation of recommended IPT network security measures and IPT 
	server maintenance activities; which includes items like OS patching, 
	applying other application patches, upgrading backup software, etc.

	Please contact "phones@ucar.edu" should this scheduled work time 
	present a major problem or if you have any questions.
