NCAR/CGD Systems Work

this work will seriously impact any planned computing.

PC Reboots:
-------------------------------------
    The following Windows PCs will be rebooted multiple times. This is
    necessary for the installation of error and security logging
    software as well as the latest Firefox and Thunderbird.

	asp-bighorn
	asp-birch
	asp-caribou
	cgdanova
	cgdartemis
	cgdathena
	cgdfeta
	cgdjoy
	cgdoracle
	cgdparmesan
	cgdsnoopy
	cgdsolar
	cgdveg
	soars-ocean


    PLEASE LOG OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE, BUT DO NOT TURN YOUR SYSTEM OFF.

    If your system is list above, please also make sure it is here the
    night before, on the network and powered on. Please turn "Standby"
    and "Power Saving" options off for the work.

    To modify your power settings:

	. Click Start -> Control Panel
    	. Double Click "Power Options"
    	. In the "Power Schemes" tab, set System standby and system
    	  hibernates to NEVER
    	. Click Apply, then OK

    The remaining Windows PCs in the division (not listed above) will
    have the software installed in the following weeks.

File System Integrity Checks
----------------------------
    The following partitions will be off line for integrity checks:

	/project/ccsmweb

Removal of Internet Browsers from ALL CGD SUN computers
-------------------------------------------------------
	Due to Security Risks, all Browsers will be removed from
	CGD SUN computers.
	Please use Browsers on CGD Linux computers poorman and salina
