- Impact of dynamic vegetation on dust and Sahel precipitation (collaborating with Natalie Mahowald, CGD/TIIMES now at Cornell University)
- West African Monsoon Modeling and Evaluation (WAMME) (collaborating with Natalie Mahowald to provide CAM simulations for analysis)
- Dependence of convection on surface fluxes- impacts on African easterly waves and Sahel diurnal cycle of precipitation (collaborating with David Lawrence, CGD/CCR)
