We are interested in understanding and improving simulations of chemical, aerosol and tracer transport in off line chemical transport models as well as in general circulation models.

Areas where our understanding of transport and transport modeling are uncertain:

  • Vertical coordinate (pressure or hybrid vs. isentropic)
  • Subgrid-scale mixing (dry and moist convective overturning)
  • Ability of models to captures events, climatology and interannual variability (what are the limits?)
